We Tested the BMW iX: It Flies and Shoots Rockets!
Here is the translation of the BMW iX review into English:
The BMW iX is the first fully electric premium crossover from the German automaker. The model was announced in November 2019, and its serial production began in 2021 at the BMW Group plant in Dingolfing, Germany.
The iX is based on an entirely new modular platform optimized for electric vehicles. This allowed for an ideal balance between spaciousness, comfort and dynamics. The body is made with extensive use of aluminum and carbon fiber, which provides high rigidity and low weight.
Currently, the iX is offered in two versions - xDrive50 and M60. The first one is equipped with two electric motors with a total output of 385 horsepower and 765 Nm of torque. The second one already has a more powerful propulsion system producing over 600 hp and 1000 Nm of torque. Such technical characteristics allow the iX to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 and 3.8 seconds respectively. The maximum speed is limited to 200 km/h.
The BMW iX range on a single charge varies from 394 to 630 km depending on the version and configuration. This was made possible thanks to batteries with a capacity of more than 100 kWh. Recharging from 10 to 80% can be done in less than 40 minutes at a powerful charging station.
The iX interior is made using eco-friendly materials and features a futuristic design. The cabin is completely free of physical buttons, all control is carried out through two large displays and the BMW voice assistant. It also offers a number of technological options, including autopilot, augmented reality on the windshield, and smartphone integration.
The BMW iX is rightfully considered a benchmark in its class for autonomy, comfort and technology levels. This car demonstrates BMW's vision of the future electric vehicle market and sets new standards for automakers. Despite the high price tag, demand for the iX remains steadily high, confirming the German brand's strategy.
